Anne Farniok is an experienced lecturer and practitioner. Before returning to her alma mater, the University of Minnesota, Anne taught at several award-winning interior design programs in the Midwest.
Anne has more than 25 years of experience in the interior design field with work experience in both commercial and residential interiors. Anne’s credentials include Certified Interior Designer (CID), Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), and National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certificate holder.
Anne has several years of leadership experience mentoring student organizations and has led multiple national and international travel experiences for students. A strong advocate of the importance of industry involvement and networking, Anne is a professional member of several organizations and has served as both a board and committee member. Organizations include the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the Network of Hospitality Design Professionals (NEWH).
Anne’s research interests focus on non-territorial spaces in workplace design. Personal accomplishments include Best in Real Estate Award, Viewer's Choice Award and Winning Designer on KARE 11 Blueprint for Green green-design contest, National Association of Industrial Office Properties Award, and SEET faculty. Her work has been published in Furnishings Magazine and the Real Estate Journal and seen on the HGTV show "Bath Crashers".
Passionate about sustainability, the interior environment, and education, she is focused on advancing the knowledge of sustainability in the creation and rehabilitation of interior spaces. In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her family, traveling, cycling, camping, cross country skiing or tending to her edible landscape.
