Thibaut has been a leading wallpaper manufacturer in the United States since the late 1800s. With a rich history and a forward-looking approach, Thibaut has evolved into a full-service design house over the decades. Their participation in the ASID Design Home 2024 in Collaboration with NARI is a testament to their dedication to innovation. Below, we dive into Thibaut's journey, their unique offerings, and their exciting contributions to this prestigious project

A Storied Beginning

"Established in 1886, Thibaut is the nation’s oldest wallpaper company. Since our inception, we have evolved into a full-service design house with a diverse offering of wallcovering, fabric, furniture, trim, and area rugs. For over 135 years, we have served designers in their quest to make a house a home," shares Marketing Specialist Heather Popovics. This long history has given Thibaut a deep well of experience and expertise, which they continue to draw upon to innovate and inspire.

Distinctive Offerings

Thibaut has built a reputation for "bringing smiles to every room." This is achieved through a versatile portfolio that combines coordinating fabric and wallcovering with approachable value, exclusive design, and best-in-class service. Their commitment to delivering creative residential solutions has made them a favorite among the trade community. Thibaut’s product categories are extensive, encompassing fabric, wallcovering, trim, furniture, and area rugs. This wide range allows them to provide comprehensive solutions that cater to a variety of design needs and preferences.

Unique Design Philosophy

What sets Thibaut apart is the exclusivity and originality of their designs. "Every design is exclusive to Thibaut and is created within one of our in-house design studios. Our products are manufactured in the United States and around the globe," Popovics explained. Their commitment to maintaining industry-leading inventory levels and efficient shipping from their state-of-the-art distribution center in Charlotte, North Carolina, ensures that their products are not only unique but also readily available.

Thibaut and the Pillsbury Castle Project

Thibaut’s involvement in the ASID Design Home 2024 in Collaboration with NARI and Pillsbury Castle Project, showcases their ability to blend historical elements with contemporary design. "This year, Thibaut will be featured in Lucy Penfield (Lucy Interiors), Sarah Hughes (Albertsson Hansen Architecture, Ltd.), and Kimberly Niosi’s (Niosi Design) spaces. Each designer has chosen a breadth of Thibaut and Anna French products that show both a playful and more sophisticated side of the brand," Popovics noted.

Lucy Penfield has opted for a bright and airy color palette for the Kids Bedroom, reflecting a youthful vibrancy. Sarah Hughes, on the other hand, uses bold patterns and floral prints to bring her Apartment Suite space to life. Kimberly Niosi has selected a neutral mural and luxurious velvets for The Grand Salon, highlighting Thibaut’s versatility and range.

Thibaut has contributed fabrics, wallcoverings, and trims for this year’s house. When asked about what excites them the most, they expressed their eagerness to see the designers' final creations. "We are most excited to see how all the different patterns, colors, and textures combine to create a cohesive look in each designer’s space. We always love to see how designers use our products and can’t wait to see the finished spaces!"
