Meet Visual Comfort & Co: Illuminating the Castle

Visual Comfort & Co., a leader in the lighting industry, has been transforming spaces since its humble beginnings. Founded in Andy Singer’s garage in 1987, Visual Comfort began with Andy’s partnership with E.F. Chapman and a single Pharmacy Lamp. Andy attended his first High Point Market in 1994, which became the key showcase for new product introductions to the design community. Andy continues to collaborate and partner with the most influential names in design, offering the widest range of incomparable lighting and extraordinary quality. Collaborating with designers allowed Andy to manufacture the latest trends, finishes, and artisan materials."

Visual Comfort has evolved significantly over the years, acquiring premier brands to become an industry leader in architectural lighting, ceiling fans, and modern lighting. This growth led to a unified name, Visual Comfort & Co., and an extensive range of designs available across 42 designers and over 50 showrooms.

Commitment to Quality

Clients working with Visual Comfort can expect unparalleled support and expertise, "Visual Comfort’s focus is to support the business of the Trade community. Our desire is to provide designers with a curated, edited, and relaxing showroom to conduct their business,” states Lynn Dale, Senior Business Development Specialist. “Our knowledgeable staff are trained lighting specialists with a keen understanding in design and architecture. We are driven by service and prioritizing relationships with our trade members and their clients."

Visual Comfort stands out with its comprehensive offerings for the entire home, including architectural lighting. "Visual Comfort is proud of our breadth of whole home offerings, including architectural lighting. Together with architectural lighting, our Lighting Design services are an added benefit to our trade community,” Lynn explains. “Other services that our trade partners find helpful include online CAD files, 2D paper templates, local delivery service, order management, and showroom selections scanning."

Lynn's career began in the tile and stone industry 25 years ago, Her shift to lighting in 2020 represented an opportunity to explore new realms of creativity and functionality. Her own passion for the lighting industry is fueled by its transformative power to shape environments and enhance experiences, “Lighting isn't just about brightness; it's about creating mood, highlighting architectural beauty, and influencing emotions. The industry's constant innovation excites me, whether it's the development of energy-efficient LED technologies, the integration of smart controls for sustainability, or the artistic exploration of light as a medium. Ultimately, the lighting industry offers limitless opportunities to innovate, create meaningful impact, and contribute to spaces where people live, work, and play. This dynamic field continually inspires and drives my dedication to its evolution and advancement."

Trends and Innovations

Visual Comfort is always at the forefront of industry trends. Lynn shares some insight on trends for this year, "Cordless lamps were trending high at High Point 2024! With the ability to touch dim the lighting module with the touch of a finger and remove it to recharge in a charging station, you will see the same technology in sconces in 2025” She goes on to say that clients should be on the lookout for Visual Comfort & Schumacher fabric that they recently launched in their Custom Shade Program. Their team is also excited to debut landscape lighting this summer.

You will see the vast selection of lighting Visual Comfort offers throughout the entire Pillsbury Castle from ultra-modern chandeliers to antique-inspired sconces and elegant ceiling mounts. Get your tickets to the amazing ASID Design Home 2024 Tour in partnership with NARI now!
